We first heard about SlyKat when the Florida-based hip-hopper contacted us before a late summer show at the Beauty Bar.

We didn’t expect we’d hear from him again, but today we got a call. The artist who could once sing, “I’m in Miami, bitch” will now call Las Vegas home. And we’d just like to officially take the opportunity to welcome Sly to town. So, welcome.

SlyKat (aka Tiwan Asia Harrell) has worked on songs with Chamillionaire, The Game, Pitbull and Rick Ross and, according to the man himself, is being scoped out by various record labels. His current hit, “Salud,” reached #41 on Billboard’s top singles chart earlier this year.

Tonight, Kat is extending his own welcome of sorts to the Vegas community. At VooDoo Lounge, high atop the Rio, the artist will hold a casting call for his upcoming video for “Salud.” The video will be shot at The Rio early next year, but you can head to the club tonight to earn a spot booty shaking on camera. Or just give the guy a welcome to town hug.
