Calling all lovers, it’s date night in Las Vegas

What could be more delicious than a really good first date? The conversation flows as freely as the cocktails with the sexual tension simmering almost to giddiness as the flirtation builds to the sweet spiciness of a good mole.

By the same token, few things are more painful than a date dissolving into a watch-checking time bomb. Good thing you staged a fake emergency phone call from a friend just in case.

For the next three weeks, however, the Venetian and the Palazzo are pitching in to steer your love life in the right direction: straight to the dining room table.

Through Friday April 24, both properties are hosting Date Nite every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and offering three and four-course pre fixe menus at select restaurants. For $40, diners who reserve their tables can sample 18-hour braised beef shortrib at Morels or SushiSamba’s miso-marinated Chilean seabass along with menus from Bar Charlie, Carnevino and Dos Caminos at the Palazzo and Enoteca San Marco and Postrio at the Venetian all for a fraction of what you would normally pay for a three-course night on the town at restaurants helmed by marquee names like Charlie Trotter, Mario Batali and Wolfgang Puck.

When the check comes you can skip the cringing and go right on reveling in the warm glow of romantic possibility. Or is that the Cabernet? And if love doesn’t spark during your date, hey, at least the food will be good.
