A look at what Gordon Ramsay will be feeding you in 2013

Pub at Caesars Palace and burger joint at Planet Hollywood opening this month

Gordon Ramsay BurGR at Planet Hollywood will look like this when it opens on December 22.

Gordon Ramsay’s Vegas takeover will be complete this month when the celeb chef extraordinaire opens his second and third restaurants on the Strip. Gordon Ramsay Pub & Grill is set to debut at Caesars Palace December 18, and Gordon Ramsay BurGR will open four days later at Planet Hollywood.

Both new restaurants are decidedly casual, and both offer some interesting décor. The pub will use imagery of British phone booths as the backdrop for its bar, and BurGR features bright colors and an undulating ceiling. But forget that stuff … let’s talk about the food.

Jeremy Berlin will be executive chef at Ramsay’s pub. Berlin has worked at Ramsay’s London restaurants in New York and Hollywood. The menu is essentially two-in-one: plenty of traditional British pub grub that will go great with one or more of the 36 beers on tap or 24 bottles, and then a hearty selection of grilled meats. So depending on your mood, you might be feasting on ale onion soup, fried egg sandwiches, shepherd’s pie or Ramsay’s stellar fish and chips, or you might upgrade to a lamb T-bone, brick-pressed Cornish chicken or grilled New Zealand red snapper. Actually, all of those dishes will pair nicely with an icy brew.

Until now, not a lot was known about the menu at Ramsay’s Planet Hollywood spot. Like all gourmet burger joints, BurGR promises to take traditional burgers, fries and shakes to the next level. Ramsay’s strategy is to use a blend of beef shortrib, brisket and chuck and cook over a wood-fueled open flame, basting his burgers in Devonshire butter. Located at the Strip-front northern entrance to Planet Hollywood’s casino, BurGR will also serve pudding shakes, combining thick, creamy milkshake and silky pudding, plus a selection of “cookie crisps” to go on top.

Ramsay’s instant dining dynasty began with the arrival of Gordon Ramsay Steak at Paris earlier this year. In just six months, the restaurant has served 82,495 covers, and 23,255 Beef Wellingtons. “We’ve been developing these different concepts for quite a while to deliver three distinct, unique dining experiences with the variety, originality, and high quality that we believe people want and appreciate,” the chef said in a press release.

More Ramsay: On December 17, Ramsay will host a Friends of James Beard Foundation dinner at Gordon Ramsay Steak at Paris, also marking the announcement of the Gordon Ramsay Steak scholarship that will benefit one student from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Las Vegas. The recipient of the scholarship will be selected by the James Beard Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee in cooperation with a committee comprised of Caesars Entertainment vice presidents of food and beverage and executive chefs.

The dinner begins at 6 p.m. with a menu of four courses plus passed hors d'oeuvres, amuse and dessert. Guests will experience the restaurant's signature dishes including three styles of Wagyu ribeye, Berkshire pork sausage, hamachi crudo with jamon Iberico gelee, sticky toffee pudding with brown butter ice cream and more. Only 75 seats are available. The price is $175 for Beard Foundation members and $200 for non-members. Reservations can be made to [email protected]
