It’s officially time to put Andrea’s on your to-eat list. The new Encore supper club—named after Steve Wynn’s wife and slated to open December 28—has named chef Joseph Elevado (formerly of Social House and Nobu) to its roster, adding some nice emphasis on the edible part of its “vibe dining” concept. “I envision people eating much like I do when I go out with friends, sharing together family style,” says chef Elevado. “My goal is to make everyone’s meal at Andrea’s as exciting and memorable as their night out at Surrender nightclub.” And the menu sounds memorable indeed: “table shares” like Kumamoto oysters with smoky ponzu gelee and hamachi with pickled cherry peppers and calamansi soy; classic dim sum options; specialty sushi rolls; chili mint duck confit salad; Dungeness crab fried rice; and five spice garlic lobster with long beans and jalapeño. A late-night menu served Friday and Saturday from 11 p.m.-2 a.m. offers an abbreviated selection with an emphasis on shareable apps and sushi. And diners at Andrea’s get special access to Surrender on weekends, with line bypass making the transition from dinner to party a little bit smoother.

Some health food tastes like sacrifice. The bison cheesesteak at Greens & Proteins tastes like deliciousness.

Healthy food fans have been flocking to Henderson restaurant Greens & Proteins since it opened its doors in late 2011, serving calorie-conscious items like fresh salads, hearty sandwiches and nutrient-packed smoothies. Now, the eatery is expanding to the Westside, opening a new location at West Flamingo and the 215 in January 2013. Like the current spot, the new Greens & Proteins is located in the same plaza as a Las Vegas Athletic Club outpost, and like its predecessor, it will offer healthy versions of lunchtime favorites like bison cheesesteaks, turkey burgers and flatbread pizzas. The new Greens & Proteins will also feature a breakfast menu with dishes like protein pancakes with agave syrup and scrambled tofu with tomatoes, basil and tofu chorizo. The restaurant will be open daily from 7 a.m.-10 p.m. at 9809 W. Flamingo Road.

There’s still time to dine like it’s 1992. Spago at the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace has extended chef Wolfgang Puck’s 20th anniversary throwback menu through December 20. The menu features retro dishes like house-smoked sturgeon with potato galette and horseradish cream and Cantonese roast duck with wild huckleberries and ginger with retro pricing to match. And chef Puck just got a key to the city. Can’t beat that. To make a reservation for one of its final nights, call 702-369-6300.
