Las Vegas has so many run-of-the-mill breakfast joints, it’s difficult to tell them apart. As soon as you enter Mr. Mamas, hiding in a southwest industrial park, you know you’ve found something special. Spotlessly clean and ocean blue with a few Greek decorative touches, the bright atmosphere is exceeded only by the warm, courteous service. These people really want you to love your pancakes.

Mr. Mamas does breakfast hot and hearty, four-egg omelets with crispy hash browns, stacks of buttermilk pancakes or rows of thick, sweet egg-bread French toast ($8.75 with three eggs and bacon, ham or sausage). The greasy-spoon lunch cuisine is just as satisfying, including a few throwbacks like chef salad ($8) and a meaty Reuben ($7.75). Try the Manhattan Burger ($8.25), a thick patty loaded with bacon and cheese on grilled sourdough, and you might be full all day.

Mr. Mamas 5580 S. Decatur Blvd., 220-9224. Monday-Friday, 6 a.m.-3 p.m.; Saturday & Sunday, 7 a.m.-2 p.m.
