UNLVino, celebrating its 39th year raising scholarship money for students of UNLV’s college of hotel administration, is getting bigger this year. The annual event will expand to four days, April 18-21, and include lots of beverage and food tastings at different venues.
The always popular Bubble-Licious at Venetian will be held Thursday, April 18, featuring a wide selection of champagne, sparking wines and cocktails. Sake Fever, at the Mirage on Friday, April 19, celebrates Asian beverages and will feature a sushi sampling this year, and the Grand Tasting, at Paris on Saturday, April 20, is the main event, a parade of international wines, beers, cocktails and food prepared by UNLV culinary students and local restaurants.
The new event this year will be BAR-b-q at the Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health on Sunday, April 21. Celebrity chefs such as Charlie Palmer, Scott Conant and Gustav Mauler will be cooking and Southern Wine and Spirits executive director of mixology Francesco Lafranconi will be crafting cocktails to match.
UNLVino tickets are on sale now at unlvtickets.com. The passport package ($350) includes admission to all four tastings, and individual event tickets are available as well, ranging from $100 to $150.
