Su Casa is celebrating its first anniversary this month, the newest restaurant addition to the Silverton Casino. It’s located inside Mi Casa Grill and Cantina creating a best-of-both-worlds scenario—no matter where you’re sitting, you can order from Mi Casa’s Mexican food menu or Su Casa’s innovative selection of sushi favorites and coastal Mexican cuisine.

To celebrate the anniversary, Su Casa is offering happy hour sushi rolls for $1 all month long, daily from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. “Birthday bash” bento boxes are also discounted this month at $15, including grilled teriyaki chicken, tempura shrimp, seaweed salad, Asian slaw, rice and a tekka maki roll.

But Su Casa’s happy hour menu is special every month. Just as Mi Casa is a locals’ favorite for taquitos, fajita beef skewers and chimichurri lamb chops to go with half-off margaritas, Su Casa is carving out its own happy hour reputation, according to Silverton executive chef Ashley Archer.

Su Casa's bento box is only $15 in November.

Small plates like togarashi-spiced pork rinds ($3), sweet and spicy chicken wings ($6) and crisp calamari ($8) are among the non-sushi favorites and traditional rolls like spicy tuna, eel and cucumber and caterpillar are just $6. Pair these snacks with a bottomless Miller Lite draft ($8) or endless bottles of Asahi ($10), and top it all off with a $3 sake bomb.

Su Casa has a secret weapon in the kitchen and he’s adding boundless creativity to the happy hour offerings.

“He’s very focused on quality and someone who’s just a really dynamic culinarian,” Archer says of Su Casa chef Shayne Galan. “As Su Casa has evolved, chef Shayne came out with his own tasting menu that allows you to experience all that Su Casa offers for a relatively low price, and you get to custom-build your own menu.”

Be sure to order the fried softshell crab with honey cornmeal masa, a standout dish available among the first course options along with tempura shrimp, seaweed salad or ahi poke nachos. The second course selections are highlighted by Su Casa’s unique take on oysters Rockefellar, using fried oysters with smoked bacon, crème fraiche and creamed spinach, or opt for a yellowtail poke bowl or tuna ceviche. There’s also a sushi course with rolls and nigiri rounding out the $35 Su Casa sampling, which can be upgraded with a signature cocktail for just $5 more.

SU CASA Silverton, 702-263-7777. Sunday-Thursday, 5-9 p.m.; Friday & Saturday, 4-10 p.m.
