Bon Appétit announced 50 nominees this morning for its annual Best New Restaurants in America list, and for the second straight year, the magazine and its restaurant editor Andrew Knowlton have selected an off-Strip Las Vegas restaurant as a nominee.

Chada Thai & Wine, located at the corner of Jones Boulevard and Spring Mountain Road, earned a spot in the list of 50 this year. "You now have an excuse to leave the Strip," touts the mag. "Most of the bold, flavorful dishes hover around the $12 mark, so why not splurge on a special bottle of wine to go with them?"

On August 14, Bon Appétit will narrow the list to 10, including Knowlton's pick for Restaurant of the Year. In 2012, Kabuto made the magazine's big list.

Chada continues to rack up recognition. In March, Food & Wine named owner Bank Atcharawan one of its Sommeliers of the Year.
