Dining News & Notes: A dinner for Discovery at Tivoli Village, Sip & Stroll at Golden Nugget and more

Emeril’s New Orleans Fish House at MGM Grand will partner with Firestone Walker Brewing Company for a five-course beer-pairing dinner on April 15. Menu highlights include spicy Korean pepper shrimp, huckleberry barbecued rainbow trout and beer-braised steamship beef short ribs. Tickets are $97 and can be purchased by calling 702-891-7374.

Bellagio’s 2016 lineup for its Executive Chef’s Culinary Classroom series of food events kicks off April 15 with Spring Is In the Air, a demo with chef Michael Burns featuring recipes (and samplings) of ahi tuna poke and whole roasted chicken. The quarterly events continue with different seasonal cooking themes on June 30, September 8 and November 10. Tickets for all events are $135 and can be purchased by calling 866-406-7117.

Tivoli Village will host a special dining-under-the-stars event benefitting Discovery Children’s Museum on April 17 featuring food and drink from Cantina Laredo, Vintner Grill, Peridot Sweets and more. Participating chefs will be challenged to make the museum’s exhibits come alive on each plate, and every course will be paired with wine. Tickets are limited at $150 and can be purchased at eventbrite.com.

Throughout the month of April, Downtown’s Golden Nugget is offering eight signature cocktails through a property-wide bar crawl called Sip & Stroll. For $40, you can stop by Bar 46, Cadillac Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Bar, Chart House, Grotto, Ice Bar, Red Sushi, Rush Lounge and Vic & Anthony’s to experience various margaritas, martinis, Champagne bellinis and more.

Border Grill continues its Patio Series of dinner events on April 22 with Farm Fresh Market, perfect for Earth Day. The Mandalay Bay restaurant’s patio will be transformed into a pop-up market full of community farmers showcasing fresh fare, and the accompanying meal will utilize those ingredients. Tickets are $79 and are available at bordergrill.com.

Brio Tuscan Grille is celebrating its fifth anniversary at Tivoli Village on April 28 with a specialty happy hour menu of $5 dishes available from 3-8 p.m., raffles and giveaways, and a program in which the restaurant will donate $5 to Three Square food bank for every $50 spent by diners that day.

Wynn Las Vegas recently opened SW Veranda, a more casual way for diners to enjoy the SW Steakhouse experience from the outdoor terrace above the restaurant, offering views of the Lake of Dreams and a selection of chef David Walzog’s small plates and appetizers. The veranda is open nightly starting at 5:30 p.m. and no reservations are accepted.

Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza, the LeBron James-backed fast-casual concept, just opened its third Las Vegas Valley location near the Galleria at Sunset in Henderson. Blaze has grown quickly since debuting in 2012 in Irvine, California, and was ranked the No. 2 fast-casual brand in FastCasual.com’s annual Top 100 list.
