Wolfgang Puck’s Spago, the restaurant often hailed as the genesis of Las Vegas’ dining renaissance, will close the Forum Shops at Caesars Palace location it has inhabited since 1992 and reopen at Bellagio in spring 2018.

The current Spago will shutter sometime in 2018 and the new Spago will take the place of Bellagio fixture Todd English’s Olives, which will close this winter.

“Just as Spago is credited with beginning the Las Vegas culinary revolution, Bellagio transformed the casino-resort industry when it opened with the first collection of world-famous chefs and restaurants,” said Wolfgang Puck in a statement. “My partners and I are thrilled to join the Bellagio family and introduce our new Spago to the thousands of international guests the resort welcomes daily. We reimagined Spago in Beverly Hills more than 20 years ago and look forward to doing the same in Las Vegas.”

The new restaurant will be located along the Via Bellagio retail promenade and will offer an open-air patio with views of Bellagio’s fountains. Architects Massimiliano Locatelli and Annamaria Scevola of CLS Architetti will design the space with brass fixtures, oak floors, leather chairs and couches and a bar and wine room lit by a neon light fixture.

The Wolfgang Puck Fine Dining Group operates restaurants around the world including Las Vegas’ Cucina at the Shops at Crystals, Cut at Palazzo, Lupo at Mandalay Bay, and Wolfgang Puck Bar & Grill at MGM Grand and Downtown Summerlin.
