Not going to Coachella? No worries.

There’s plenty to rock out on right here

The Coachella spillover is in full effect once again this weekend, with three of the desert festival's bands coming through for Vegas performances. Strangely enough, there are a couple of other shows on the schedule that feel like Coachella handoffs but actually aren't. To help you plan it all out:

Japandroids: Somebody please tell us why these Vancouver garage-poppers aren't on the Coachella bill!? Even if they only play the eight tracks on 35-minute "full"-length Post-Nothing, it's worth the $8 admission. Hotly tipped Long Beach foursome Avi Buffalo opens. April 15, 10 p.m., $8. Beauty Bar, 598-1965.

Arctic Monkeys: Speaking of not playing Coachella, how is it these über-buzzed Brit rockers are playing the Strip, but not the massive festival four hours to the west? If you're a Vegas-based Monkeys head, why ask why, right? Especially when excellent psychedelic warriors Sleepy Sun are also on the bill. April 16, 9 p.m., $25.50-$31. House of Blues, 632-7600.

Camera Obscura: These Scotlanders have been playing pretty, mellow pop for 14 years, and they're just now gigging in Vegas for the first time. Ah, the joys of Coachella piggybacking. Hmm, wonder if it's possible to see Sleepy Sun and still make the Aruba afterwards? April 16, 9 p.m., $12. Aruba Showroom, 383-3100.

Them Crooked Vultures: Even if you can't name a single song off the newish trio's self-titled '09 debut, you've gotta respect their rock 'n' roll pedigree. Singer/guitarist Josh Homme plays in Queens of the Stone Age. Drummer Dave Grohl's resumé includes the Foo Fighters and Nirvana. And bassist John Paul Jones? Once upon a time, he played in a little band you mighta heard of called Led Zeppelin. April 17, 8 p.m., $45.50-$146. The Joint, 693-5222.

The Dead Weather: Jack White's other other band — you know, the one that has him playing drums — is set to release its second album in under a year, Sea of Cowards, on May 11. Sure, we'd rather see White raging with The White Stripes, but it's tough to complain about any show that has Kills' vocalist Alison Mosshart on the mic. April 18, 8 p.m., $30. The Pearl, 942-7777.
