Imagine sipping champagne in an outdoor garden underneath the (fake) Eiffel Tower while the (real) Bellagio fountains put on a show across the street. Sound enticing? Mark your calendar for September 3 and the grand opening of Chateau Gardens, the rooftop club at Paris Las Vegas, complete with outdoor stage, elevated DJ booth, dancefloor, four bars, 70 tables and 22,000 square feet of open-air nightlife overlooking the Strip. Rockers Thirty Seconds to Mars (with lead singer Jared Leto of My So-Called Life and Fight Club) will play the Gardens’ big debut party over Labor Day weekend.

I may have to steal this cocktail—or should I say, snack—idea from one of the First Friday bars at the Arts Factory: drunken gummy bears. A distant cousin to the Jell-O shot, this booze-infused bar fare is made by drowning gummy bears in vodka (or your other liquor/drink of choice) for about nine days. Consider adapting it with rum-and-Coke-soaked gummy Coke bottles or Fuzzy Navel-infused peach rings. Just be sure to warn your guests before you put them within reach.

How’s this for a sales pitch: “You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll spit up blood. It is much better than Cats”? Yup, Test Market Theater (TSTMRKT) is bringing their performance art, moving collage and other antics to Artifice for a totally weird, totally wild show Friday starting at 9 p.m. It’s also totally free, so even if you don’t spit up blood, at least you won’t have wasted any cash.

Why is next Wednesday different from all other Wednesdays? Because the Palms weekly Snitch “stiff drinks and dope music” party will feature Questlove, percussionist for The Roots, Philly native and all around cultural badass. The Grammy-winning musician and record producer will play a DJ set at Ghostbar, with residents Dave Fogg and M!KEATTACK also scheduled to spin.
