Carnival of Wonders Last week, magicians Jeff Hobson, Mark Kalin and Jinger performed their show at the MAGIC Live convention. The performance was for magicians only, but they’ve got two shows open to everyone this weekend! August 20-21, 7:30 p.m., $20, Orleans Showroom, 365-7075.

Rock the Bells The hip-hop festival of the same name (with headliners Lauryn Hill, Nas and Erykah Badu) isn’t coming to town, so check out its club and theater series, featuring hip-hop duo Mobb Deep and Wu-Tang alums Raekwon and Ghostface. August 22, 8 p.m., $38, House of Blues.

Death Cab for Cutie The indie/alt rockers’ seventh album, Codes and Keys, dropped in May and made the No. 3 spot on the Billboard 200 chart. They take the stage with Frightened Rabbit at the Cosmo’s Boulevard Pool Saturday. August 20, 9 p.m., $40.
