After slimming down to just three days last year, this year’s Dam Short Film Festival is back up to four days of short films from around the world, showcased in the historic Boulder Theatre in the heart of Boulder City. DSFF co-founder Lee Lanier has his own movie in the festival this year: The sci-fi/horror hybrid Blood Roulette will get its own special premiere at 8 p.m. on February 11, complete with a performance of the theme song by local band Same Sex Mary, a cast Q&A and free ray guns for the first 20 audience members.

Other highlights include a program of short films from Iran (February 10, 11:45 a.m.), which expands on the global focus of the festival and features movies rarely seen outside their native country. The annual showcase for Nevada filmmakers takes place at 9 p.m. on February 11, with works from Vegas movie-scene staples David Schmoeller, Jeremy Helal and the Thompson brothers, among others. And if you’re adventurous enough to check out the entire slate of 24 programs and 131 films, Lanier is offering a lifetime festival pass and $150 in festival merchandise to anyone who attends every moment of every screening. Sounds like a pretty good deal.
