We’re stickin’ to Dickey’s bbq ribs

Full flavor from a hidden chain

Time to update the list of best barbecue joints in Vegas: Hiding in a strip mall south of the Strip is Texas-based Dickey’s Barbecue Pit, a chain restaurant that feels like a local joint. But these slow-smoked meats are better than most of our city’s ’cue joints.

Restaurant Guide

Dickey's Barbecue Pit
7430 Las Vegas Blvd. S., 220-4227.
Daily, 11 a.m.-9 p.m.

When I think of true barbecue, I think pork ribs and beef brisket. At Dickey’s, the menu boasts chopped brisket as the signature meat, and it is rightfully tender and full of hickory smoke flavor. But the ribs are truly impressive, served looking like real competition barbecue, perfectly cut and not over-sauced or over-seasoned. Each bite is moist, soft enough for “fall off the bone” status, yet not overcooked to the point of falling apart. The taste of the meat is showcased beautifully, and if you need an extra kick, hit the selection of sauces and try the sweet and spicy option.
