Baby animals may be hazardous to my health. This theory belongs to a certain friend with certain medical knowledge who’s watched me flip through a Cute Overload calendar. Faced with teacup piglets, mini cows and anything in the hedgehog department, I squeak uncontrollably and twist my body into decorticate posture, which is typically a symptom of brain tumors, head injuries and strokes. When I saw the Mirage’s new baby bottlenose dolphin last week, I put my arms around my computer and rested my cheek on the screen. I’m not even embarrassed. Nothing is cuter than a baby dolphin. And their jaws conduct sound. Human toddlers best recognize.
