Wonder Woman has been gracing the pages of DC Comics for more than seven decades, kicking ass and taking names with her bulletproof bracelets and Golden Lasso of Truth. This First Friday, the Amazonian warrior princess-turned-Justice Leaguer will grace the walls of Downtown’s Skin City Body Painting Studio & Boutique. The multimedia group exhibit will feature local artists, including Strip performers and the Weekly’s own Kristen Peterson.

Absinthe’s Penny Pibbets fashioned a Wonder Woman sock puppet, while co-star Voki Kalfayan, aka the Gazillionaire, designed a zombie Wonder Woman action figure. Other highlights: a Styrofoam bust by Sam Gorrie, who makes a living impersonating Wonder Woman on the Strip; pop art pieces drawn on a base of old Wonder Woman issues, by Skin City owner Robin Slonina; and a Wonder Woman gown designed by Jessica Westergom. Rounding out the event will be a live Wonder Woman body-painting exhibition, courtesy of Slonina.

And if you don’t get your superhero fill at Skin City, walk to neighboring Alios, where local burlesque star Kalani Kokonuts will exhibit her vast collection of Wonder Woman memorabilia.
