Best Street-Side Lunch: Viva Las Arepas

Viva Las Arepas has the grub and the setting to become a Vegas must.

Served from a kiosk in the Dino’s parking lot, these Venezuelan cornmeal sandwiches (gluten free!) are grilled and filled with slow-cooked pork butt, creamy black beans and cheese, or garlicky shrimp. The odd parade of characters inevitably walking by only adds to the Arepas experience. 1516 Las Vegas Blvd. S., 366-9696. Sun, 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; Mon-Thu, 11 a.m.-11 p.m.; Fri & Sat, 11 a.m.-midnight.
