HEAR

Madonna The pop-music legend has been churning out hits for three decades, helping to reshape …. Okay, it’s freaking Madonna. Your great-grandma knows what she’s done. In fact, bring her along; we’d like to see her dance. With Martin Solveig, October 13 & 14, 8 p.m., $48-$383, MGM Grand.

Dr. John & The Blind Boys of Alabama One’s a bona fide Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, the other a gospel group that’s been around more than 70 years. When they team up to perform “Spirituals to Funk” at the Smith Center, we’re guessing a few spines are gonna tingle. October 16, 7:30 p.m., $24-$59, Reynolds Hall.

GO

Art Playwright Yasmina Reza thrives on chaos (see: God of Carnage, adapted for Roman Polanski’s film Carnage). This comedy follows a similar path, all the while asking, What is art? We’re guessing this production will qualify. October 12-21; Friday & Saturday, 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, 2 p.m.; $10-$12. CSN Cheyenne Campus.

Laughlin International Film Festival That’s right: Laughlin is hosting an international film festival. It’s four days of feature films, shorts, workshops and a cosmic bowling Halloween party, all in the city on the banks of the Colorado River. October 11-14, Laughlin Stadium 9 Cinemas & Aquarius Casino Resort, various times, $8-$10 per screening, passes $22-$99, laughlinfilmfestival.com.

SEE

Led Zeppelin: Celebration Day It seems more and more likely that a full-scale Led Zeppelin reunion won’t be happening, so this concert film of the band’s 2007 one-off live performance is probably the next best thing. October 17-18, various local theaters and times, $7-$15.

30 Rock Unlike Kenneth Parcell’s youth and innocence, most good things must come to an end. Like this NBC series, which just began its final season. Thursdays, 8 p.m.

EAT

American Coney Island This legendary Detroit hot dog joint has been pimped on every food show on cable. Its first out-of-state location opened at the D this week. Come hungry, and forget the ketchup. 24/7, $3.75 for classic dog with secret-recipe chili, mustard and onions.
