New year, new Palms. The party-hearty casino-resort is a different place these days, what with Rain and Playboy closed, cocktail bar Scarlet open and many more developments on the way. Now it’s time to add Snitch to the list. The Wednesday night bash known for stiff drinks and dope music will spin its last tracks on January 30, with DJ 88 joining M!KEATTACK and Dave Fogg to send Snitch off right. Best wishes, Snitches.

And a random shout-out to local lady Jenna Jameson for looking fierce as she hosted at Tabu during AVN weekend. The former “Queen of Porn “may not be in front of the camera much anymore, but damn if she doesn’t still know how to work a carpet. –Sarah Feldberg

Calling all DJs. Sapphire Gentlemen’s Club and BeatClan artist management are giving one local DJ his or her big break (and $100,000) this spring, and if you’ve got a 20-minute mix and 5,000 social-network followers, it could be you. Twelve DJs will be selected to battle at the Nightclub & Bar Convention, judged and produced by Las Vegas mainstay DJ Hollywood. The top three will go on to compete at Sapphire Pool and Dayclub’s grand opening party, with the winner taking a $100,000 residency and a coveted spot on the BeatClan roster. Aspiring producers and turntablists should send a bio, photos and a 20-minute “high-energy” mix to [email protected] by February 1.

And the award for Most Creative Use of Vaguely Football-ish Marketing by a Nightclub goes to ... Tao! The club is hosting the Blondes vs. Brunettes Bowl on Thursday, January 31, with $5,000 going to the “hottest blonde or brunette paired girl-on-girl kiss.” Frat boys everywhere just kicked themselves for not thinking of this first. –Jorge Labrador
