Food moves fast on Eastern Avenue

Image
Novecento Pizzeria, which opened a popular spot in Centennial Hills in early 2013, is set to expand this summer with this second location on Eastern Avenue.

There probably isn’t a spot in the entire Las Vegas Valley where restaurants open and close with the frequency they do along Eastern Avenue south of the 215. Exhibit A: The street-side space in Sansone Park Place formerly known as White Chocolate Grill, Black Pepper Grill, Urban Grille, Bistro 95Ten and, most recently, Blue Water Restaurant and Sports Bar, is padlocked once again. But in the same massive strip mall, salad-sandwich-soup spot Café Zupas opened recently, and coming later this summer will be the second location of Novecento Pizzeria.

Across the street, Protein House has arrived with its “fit food” offerings plus signature smoothies and espresso. On the southern end of Eastern, Rib Cage barbecue has taken up the space that was Meat & Three, and Yalla Mediterranean Grill is open where Flame Kabob once resided. There’s new (old) breakfast around here, too, with the arrival of Eastern’s very own Egg Works.

Bratalian Neapolitan Cantina, the homey Italian restaurant just south of Horizon Ridge operated by chef Carla Pellegrino and her sister Alessandra Madeira, just launched a new three-course prix fixe dinner that will be available for $29.99 between 5 and 7 p.m. through August. Diners can customize their meal from seven appetizers, eight entrées and four dessert options.
