This year’s Vegas version sizzles with shows like Dick Johnson 2: Private Eyes, featuring two old-school gumshoes and two over-the-top sound effects artists. Doom in June Fest 3 Christmas arrives six months early for local fans of doom metal and stoner rock. Veteran touring acts like The Skull and Manilla Road are joined by Vegas’ own Demon Lung, Megaton and Spiritual Shepherd for a day that’s sure to have eardrums ringing. Carnevale kickoff Celeb chef Mario Batali will be in town to light the spark for Venetian/Palazzo’s annual Italian festival, hosting an interactive event with cooking demos and tastings from his Las Vegas restaurants. June 1, noon-5 p.m., $60, Palazzo Waterfall Atrium.
