UNLV freshman Rashad Vaughn leads the team in points per game (17.3 at press time), ranks third in minutes (31.2) and, as a 6-foot-6 guard, grabs the second-most rebounds on the team (4.3). And absolutely no one thinks they’ve seen him play his best basketball this year.
Vaughn came to the Rebels as a top-10 player who could possibly be in the NBA as soon as June. While he’s been good, Vaughn is shooting only 60 percent from the free-throw line and is second on the team in turnovers (30). He still has lots of room to grow, and if he does so quickly, he might not be around for long.
