With the goal of connecting children with their incarcerated parents, the charity organization God Behind Bars is hosting a Halloween event October 13 at Casa Grande Transitional Housing facility. In partnership with Metro Police and the Nevada Department of Corrections, the inaugural Trunk or Treat will feature carnival games, a barbecue family dinner and Trunk or Treating from the back of decorated police cars for children of those incarcerated at Casa Grande. The faith-based group is hoping to raise $50,000 to fund this and other similar events. God Behind Bars founder Jake Bodine said in a press statement: “We are able to reunite and even introduce children to their parents for the first time, giving them hope for their future.”
