Godskitchen, we’ll miss you so. You’ve been one of our favorite spots in Las Vegas to hear the world’s best electronic dance music DJs. Your mid-week presence on Hump Day at Body English breaks up the workweek monotony and lets us laugh at tourists attempting to wave around glowsticks in patterns that can’t compete with the hardcore locals. Besides transporting us with great music, you’ve gotten us sufficiently sloshed thanks to the open bar when the night begins. You make us regret having to go to work the next day, but it’s worth it, and we just want to take this opportunity to say we love you. We don’t say it enough.
The last Godskitchen at Body English is scheduled for December 9. It’ll go out with a bang, celebrating the birthday of Angel Management Group’s self-proclaimed Queen of House, Zee Zandi. The six-year-old Body English (formerly Baby’s Nightclub) will be closing its doors after New Year’s Eve to make room for the luxurious new Vanity nightclub set to open the same night in the Hard Rock Hotel’s soon-to-be-finished tower.
But don’t cry; all hope is not lost for fans of both Body English and Godskitchen. Body is expected to undergo renovations and reopen sometime in 2010 as a new afterhours spot—a brilliant move by the Nightlife Group at the Hard Rock for creating a one-stop shop for partying literally all day and night.
As for Godskitchen, the Weekly received official confirmation today from Vanity managing partner Cory McCormack that the mid week party will in fact be moving over to Vanity on Thursday nights early next year. (Specific start date is yet to be determined). So, until then, get the last of your EDM fix at Body English with Noel Sanger on November 18, Judge Jules November 25, Nick Fanciulli on December 2 and Roger Sanchez closing out the last Body English Godskitchen Wednesday on December 9. Then, it’s not goodbye; it’s see you later.
