Food, fireworks and fun are on tap for the Fourth of July

Fourth of July means another busy weekend in Las Vegas with all the top concerts, celebrity party hosts, UFC action and, of course, fireworks. If you’re looking for family-friendly activities or a pool party you should bring your crew to, look no further than our comprehensive Fourth of July guide.

Tuesday, July 3:

North Las Vegas celebration: Head to James Seastrand Park for music from Franky Perez and Sleepy Brown plus a kids corner, teen zone, food and fireworks. Admission is $4 per person and festivities run from 6-9:30 p.m.

Firework Rolls and Bombshell cocktails: Enjoy a tasty treat throughout the month of July at Rice & Company. They're getting patriotic with the Firework Roll, made with spicy tuna, avocado, yellowtail and caviar, wrapped in seaweed and topped with spicy mayo and hot chili sauce. Guests can wash it down with the signature Bombshell cocktail made with Absolut Vodka, Triple sec, Chambord and Frothee, rimmed with pop rocks for a fireworks explosion.

Patriotic fruit: Ethel M offers gourmet chocolate-covered strawberries hand dipped and decorated with red, white and blue sprinkles, available at $5 a piece or 2 for $8 through July 4th.

20 for $20 Beer BBQ Party: If you’re looking to start your July 4 festivities a little early, head to Stripburger for their 20 for $20 Beer BBQ Party. Sample 20 varieties of beer plus an all-you-can-eat menu featuring burgers, wings, hot dogs, french fries, coleslaw, baked beans and cookies for dessert. Enjoy DJ music, as well.

All-American Combo: American Burger Works at Excalibur will feature the All-American Combo, priced at $13.99 for the entire month of July. This combo comes complete with the ultimate American meal: a cheeseburger, milkshake and “freedom fries.”

A frozen Fourth: Tacos & Tequila offers the 100-ounce Flagpole Daiquiri layered with frozen flavors, including red strawberry daiquiri, white piña colada and blue coconut banana during the month of July, priced at $35 with refills available for $25.

Celebrate with cuisine: Celebrate the Fourth all week long at Senor Frogs. The Mexican restaurant will celebrate with all-American cuisine, including sliders, wings, a BBQ combo plus a great patio view of the fireworks on the Strip.

Cheers to the Fourth: Tabu Ultralounge is celebrating America’s freedom throughout the month of July with three specialty cocktails: the Red Julip, featuring fresh raspberries and Maker's Mark; the White Night, featuring Malibu Rum and Frangelico; and the Blue Sparkler, featuring Don Julio Blanco and Blue Curaco.

Rebecca & Fiona: Swedish DJ duo Rebecca & Fiona have opened for Robyn and been the subject of a reality show in their home country. Catch them at All Night Tuesdays at Lavo.

Wednesday, July 4:

DJ and drinks: A DJ will spin a mix of Top 40 hits and dance music at Rhumbar from 2-6 p.m. while guests enjoy $5 vodka mixed drinks, Sweet Strawberry Rum Punch and 16-ounce Coors Light bottles as well as $18 buckets of domestic beer and $8 house cigars. Starting at 3 p.m., guests may order hookahs and get patriotic with red, white and blue flavors such as cherry, vanilla and blue mist.

Discounted Independence Day: The new Ranch House Kitchen at Town Square Las Vegas offers 20 percent off its barbecue menu selections all day, and adults can indulge in an all-day happy hour special of $3 cocktails, $3 domestic draft beers and $10 bottomless domestic draft beers.

Patio party: Cabo Wabo Cantina inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood celebrates the Fourth with a patio party featuring drink specials, including $15 pitchers and $25 buckets of Dos Equis and Coors Light.

The taste of barbecue: Lynyrd Skynyrd BBQ & Beer at Excalibur offers an Independence Day Barbecue Platter, priced at $17.76, on July 4. The dish includes three slices of juicy beef brisket, two spare ribs and a sausage link. They'll also offer the Free Bird cocktail, made with Red Stag, Citronage, blackberries and lime sour, for $10.

Station Casinos lights up the night: Station Casinos doesn’t care that the holiday falls midweek. They will still be putting on their annual fireworks display starting at 9 p.m. at Aliante Station, Green Valley Ranch, Fiesta Rancho, Texas Station and Red Rock Resort.

Fireworks with the 51s: The 51s will help celebrate Independence Day with the traditional post-game Fireworks Extravaganza. All seats are priced at $14 for this special event. Five flat-screen televisions will be given away to selected fans throughout the game

Independence Day at Knickerbocker Park: For a big fireworks show and great views of the Las Vegas Valley, celebrate Independence Day at Knickerbocker Park in the Providence master-planned community at 10695 Dorrell Lane. The event features music from The Tommy Rocker Band, contests and fireworks at 9:15 p.m.

Industry Independence Party: Crazy Horse III celebrates with an Industry Independence Party featuring drink specials like $1 Bud and Bud Light bottles and $2 Jack Daniels shots from 9 p.m. until midnight.

Patriotic Patio Party: PBR Rock Bar & Grill will commemorate Independence Day with a patio party complete with drink specials, bull riding and a view of fireworks on the Strip. Patrons can enjoy $5 Washington Apple shots as well as $1 mechanical bull rides plus daily happy hour specials consisting of $3 draft beers, two-for-$8 beers, $5 shots and two-for-one well drinks from 3 until 6 p.m.

Free pool party for locals: Encore Beach Club hosts a Fourth of July party free for locals with music from Dada Life plus a hot dog cookout and a special holiday menu.

Party with Prydz: Surrender Nightclub presents Erik Prydz at his first U.S. date in five years. He'll be armed with a new album and single, “Aileen Aileen."

A cool holiday: Stay hydrated and keep it cool this Fourth of July at Minus5 Ice Bar. On July 4, guests who wear Minus5 T-shirts to either location will receive $5 off any entry package.

Henderson Fourth of July Celebration: The City of Henderson hosts its annual Fourth of July Celebration featuring three stages of live entertainment, a spectacular fireworks show and concessions. The Randy Anderson Band, the Henderson Symphony Orchestra and the city’s latest entertainment venture, the Battle of the Bands competition — showcasing nine bands comprised of local high school students — will perform. Parking will be available at Foothill High School, located on College Drive. Complimentary shuttle service from the location will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Fremont on the Fourth: The Fremont Street Experience currently has American flags on display underneath the canopy. The flags will remain there through July 9. Enjoy a fireworks show displayed on the Viva Vision canopy screen on July 4. In addition, the Fremont Street Experience will celebrate International Fight Week with a kick-off party featuring a performance from 3 Doors Down, which starts at 9 p.m. on the Third Street Stage. The Viva Vision fireworks shows run after the regularly scheduled Viva Vision shows at 11 p.m., midnight and 1 a.m.

Threedom to Party: Air Bar at the Stratosphere celebrates with Threedom to Party, featuring $3 Sauza shots from 7 p.m. to midnight and $3 beers and shots of Crown, Jager and Patron from 9 p.m. until midnight. Catch the Sauza girls and their giveaways from 8-10 p.m.

Fourth of July Pool Party: The Riviera hosts a Fourth of July pool party featuring music from a DJ, an outdoorbarbecue, $1 Miller High Life bottles (10 cents from every bottle is donated to veterans' charities), $15 buckets of Bud or Bud Light, a bikini fashion show and half off of food at the pool for veterans and active-duty military with a military ID.

Swing for independence: Golf Summerlin is treating golf enthusiasts this July 4 holiday to their choice of deals on individual rounds and double weekend unlimited golfing specials at its three Summerlin courses: Highland Falls, Palm Valley and Eagle Crest. Single rounds are $45 per round or just $105 per person for unlimited golf for five days, including July 1, 4, 7 and 8.

Barbecue and bikinis: Tao Beach hosts a barbecue and a $5,000 contest for the girl with the most patriotic bikini. Enjoy Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs, kobe burgers and barbecue ribs plus Tito’s Vodka specialty drinks.

Barbecue at the Gold Spike: The Gold Spike Hotel & Casino celebrates the Fourth of July with a barbecue dinner special featuring barbecue ribs, baked beans, potato salad and buttery corn on the cob for $8.99.

Rev Run: Lavo Nightclub presents a live DJ set with Rev Run and DJ Ruckus for Hip Hop Wednesdays.

Silverton's Fourth of July party: Celebrate America’s independence poolside at the Silverton while enjoying food and beer specials throughout the day for an admission price of only $4. Reggae band Natural Heights will play two sets at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. with DJ R.O.B. spinning the rest of the day.

Fireworks over Primm: Celebrate near the border with a spectacular fireworks display starting at 9:30 p.m. The prime viewing location will be behind Buffalo Bill's Resort and Casino within the Star of the Desert Arena parking lot.

Indepen-dance: Snitch Wednesdays at Ghostbar presents Indepen-dance featuring music from Kid Conrad and resident DJ M!keattack, plus a great view of the fireworks displays around town.

Cocktails and Fireworks: LAX celebrates the holiday with Cocktails and Fireworks featuring music from DJ Gusto.

Indie Pen Dance Party: Dance Under the Influence presents its fourth annual Fourth of July party at the Fremont East hangout. Listen to live music by the Restless Suns, Tinglerz and Not in the Face, then rage to beats by DJ Johnny Rox. Even better? Partygoers enjoy free barbecue and Miller Lite from 9 to 10 p.m. Happy birthday, America.

California Invasion: Bare's mid-week pool party gets into the July 4 spirit with busloads of girls from San Diego and Los Angeles plus music from Blend Artists.

Thursday, July 5:

Splash Dance: Surrender Nightclub gets the weekend started a little early with its Splash Dance nighttime pool party featuring Juicy Vegas and Robbie Rivera & Friends.

The Affair: Tryst kicks off Independence Week with DJ Ammo and Derrick Anthony. The Affair industry night offers local ladies and industry professionals complimentary entrance.

Can I get your autograph?: Las Vegas Fight Shop hosts autograph signings from 3-4 p.m. Training Mask presents former UFC lightweight champion Sean Sherk to launch Training Mask 2.0.

Friday, July 6:

Las Vegas Fight Shop's autograph signings continue. Affliction presents former UFC middleweight champion, Rich Franklin, for a meet and greet at 6 p.m. Traumma Combat presents Chan Sung Jung, "The Korean Zombie," for a meet and greet at 8 p.m. DJ Dezie spins, and Invicta fighters Jill and Jocelyn Lybarger will be on hand to hang with the crowd.

Keidy spins at Marquee: Vegas-based electro and house DJ Keidy spins at Marquee Dayclub at Cosmo.

San Diego Takeover: 1 Oak is bringing in 50 of the hottest So-Cal girls from San Diego to party with guests while resident DJ Karma provides the tunes.

Exodus to Rain: New York-based DJ Exodus brings his favorite electro, techno and house to Rain Nightclub.

Surrender to Steve: Surrender's music director Steve Aoki spins at his home base.

July First Friday: The downtown arts festival will feature a Freedom Wall, free painting lessons, a video competition for filmmakers and yoga classes by Lululemon in addition to the usual concerts and gallery showings.

Tryst with a Spider: Tryst presents Along Came a Spider with DJ Spider and Derrick Anthony.

Cinco de Julio party: Kick off July and celebrate the monthly Cinco de Mayo party at El Segundo Sol. Cinco de Julio will feature Loco Hour specials all day in the bar. Enjoy dishes like loaded nachos, fully loaded street tacos and quesadillas, plus margaritas for $5 and tequila shots for $3 each.

DJ Politik at Tao: The youngest member of the Deckstar DJ conglomerate, DJ Politik, spins at Maxim Fridays at Tao Beach and then later at Tao Nightclub.

See a prodigy: In honor of UFC 148 and International Fight Week, former UFC champion BJ “The Prodigy” Penn makes a special appearance at Tabu Ultralonge.

Arty party: Anjunabeats recording artist Arty is only 22 but has already shared the stage with the likes of Markus Schulz, Above & Beyond, Gareth Emery and Armin. Now he takes the stage at Marquee.

Grammy award winner is in the house: This week, Fernando Garibay is in the house at Haze along with resident DJ Stellar. With four Grammy nominations under his belt, he is poised to produce many more hits for artists like Lady Gaga, U2 and Britney Spears.

Rob Dyrdek's birthday party: The Bank at Bellagio presents a birthday celebration for MTV's "Fantasy Factory" and "Ridiculousness" star, Rob Dyrdek, with music from DJ Ikon.

Get bamboozled: Bare dives into the weekend with a special guest DJ set from the NBA's favorite, DJ Bamboozle.

Tuff-N-Uff's Festibrawl: The 2012 Olympic Games won’t feature mixed martial arts, but that isn’t stopping Tuff-N-Uff from welcoming two-time gold medalist Chris Mullin as a special guest to the Festibrawl. The event will feature live music, free beer sampling and gourmet food trucks, plus three championship fights. Jeff Shamrock, son of UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock, will also be fighting.

Saturday, July 7:

Poolside barbecue: Guests will be able to cool off and enjoy an al fresco dining experience at the poolside barbecue Saturday and Sunday from noon until 5 p.m. at Azure Pool at the Palazzo. Featured summertime favorites include seasonal fruit salad, macaroni salad, balsamic and honey-glazed St. Louis ribs, classic beef sliders, seared chicken skewers and sliced watermelon platters. In addition, guests can receive a complimentary bucket of Budweiser with any cabana or daybed reservation. Get a jump on your partying with music from DJ Mika Gold on Friday, then head back for the barbecue and music from Hed Kandi on Saturday and DJ Roman on Sunday.

Fireworks and Great American Cookout: Central Michel Richard at Caesars Palace will hold its Great American Cookout on its patio. The party will take place from 4-9 p.m., the same evening Caesars Palace will host the Strip’s fireworks celebration, scheduled to begin just past 9 p.m. Menu items for the barbecue include whole roasted suckling pig, barbecue pulled-pork sandwiches, grilled bratwurst and all-beef hotdogs, grilled barbecue pork ribs and Cajun-grilled flatiron steak plus side dishes like steak fries, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, coleslaw and honey-baked beans. The $30-per-person price includes all-you-can drink local brewers’ selections from Tenaya Creek Brewery and Joseph James, plus music from local DJ E.J. Luera.

Free museum access: Bank of America’s Museums on Us helps cardholders continue the celebration of our nation’s birthday by offering free admission to three Las Vegas museums: Las Vegas Natural History Museum, Lied Discovery Children’s Museum and Springs Preserve on Saturday and Sunday. Individual museum hours vary.

Tiësto at Encore: The Dutch DJ is riding high on the success of his new album, "Club Life — Volume One Las Vegas" and now brings the Club Life experience to Encore Beach Club.

Lil Jon hosts: Guests can enjoy "Celebrity Apprentice" and rapper Lil Jon as he hosts the evening at Surrender Nightclub.

A Fabolous night: Fabolous will be performing live at 1 Oak at Mirage. The Brooklyn-based rapper is known for hit singles like "Can't Deny It." "Can't Let You Go" and "My Time."

"Rock of Vegas” Summer Concert Series: The "Rock of Vegas” Summer Concert Series continues on Fremont Street with a concert by Asia featuring John Payne. The free concert will take place on the First Street Stage at 9 p.m.

Celebrate with Tryst: Tryst continues its weeklong celebration with Dave Fogg and Mike Carbonell.

Post-fight with Chael Sonnen: Mixed martial artist and UFC 148 main event fighter Chael Sonnen will host his post-fight party at Tabu Ultralouge.

Mark Stylz: Resident DJ Mark Stylz headlines at Rain Nightclub at the Palms.

California Love: The Palms Pool & Bungalows presents California Love featuring Sex Panther and Roger Sanchez.

In a trance: English trance DJ Gareth Emery headlines at Marquee Nightclub.

A DJ on the books: Justin "3LAU" is enrolled at Washington University in St. Louis but balances his school obligations with a national DJ tour. Catch him at Marquee.

San Diego Takeover, pool party edition: Bare presents a So-Cal Takeover with San Diego college girls partying poolside at Bare with music from DJ Que.

Hang with B.o.B: Producer and rapper B.o.B, known for tracks like "Nothin' on You," "Airplanes" and "Magic," makes a special performance at Hyde.

Silva versus Sonnen: UFC 148 features a main event between Anderson "The Spider" Silva putting his Brazilian pride, and his middleweight title, on the line against the one-man hype machine he narrowly grappled into submission their last go-round - Chael Sonnen.

Sunday July 8:

The meet goes on: Las Vegas Fight Shop's autograph signings continue. MMA ELITE presents Michael Bisping, King Mo, Fabricio Werdum plus more special guests for a meet and greet from 1-3 p.m.

Heat at the House: Reverend Horton Heat performs at the House of Blues along with special guests Guilty Ones, Supersuckers and God Damn Gallows.

Special performance: Simon Rex, aka Dirt Nasty, and Beardo take the stage at Haze for a special live performance, followed by music from DJ Karma.

Liquid hosts Lavelle: Liquid's industry party starts the weekend with a special guest DJ set from legendary San Diego DJ Lavelle Dupree from Scooter & Lavelle, plus resident DJ Ikon.

Avicii takes on Vegas: Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Avicii better bust out the sunscreen since this is his first pool gig in town.

Emery at Tao: BPM Sundays at Tao Beach presents English trance DJ and producer Gareth Emery.

Brow at the bar: Ghostbar Sundays presents Kevin Brown plus weekly residents Zen Freeman and Brandon Kent.

Welcome to Wonderland: Insomniac’s Wonderland Sundays at Marquee Dayclub presents Sander Van Doorn and Blake Jarrell with an opening set by Tara Brooks.
