Looks like we won’t be seeing the Light—at least, not yet.

Through Facebook this afternoon, Light Nightclub at Mandalay Bay announced that it would be postponing its planned April 26 opening until Memorial Day Weekend, with a note that read:

We are very sorry to announce that due to construction delays, the opening of Light Nightclub has been pushed to Memorial Day Weekend. We understand that this affects many of you who have already purchased tickets and offer you the option to reschedule for the DJs' next date at the venue or a full refund. This can be done through your original point of sale. Please contact our VIP services at [email protected] for any questions or concerns.

The post was met with a volley of frustrated comments by people who wrote that they’d already purchased plane tickets, booked hotel rooms and paid for the opening weekend shows. Light advised that party tickets would be transferred to the DJs’ next date or fully refunded, including service fees, through the original point of sale.

One angered poster asked if there would be airfare refunds, as well. Light responded: “We will be refunding flight tickets and helping you come to the next show of your choice. … We didn’t take this decision lightly and we will be helping you get to The Light!”

The Light website now has Memorial Day Weekend listed as the opening, with a lineup including Axwell, Baauer, Otto Knows, Sebastian Ingrosso, Skrillex and Zedd. A full announcement is expected on April 24. The club’s original opening date coincides with the grand opening of Hakkasan at MGM Grand next weekend, which will feature DJs like Steve Aoki, Nathan Scott, Deadmau5, Zen Freeman, Calvin Harris and Laidback Luke. Memorial Day Weekend will now mark not only the debut of Light at Mandalay Bay, but also of its sister party pool Daylight at the same resort.
