The gay nightlife scene is losing one of its mainstays this fall.

That’s because longtime staple The Buffalo, located at 4640 Paradise Road in the city’s “Fruit Loop,” will be closing its doors September 3. According to the bar’s manager, the closure is due to the venue’s lease not being renewed and a significant increase in the cost of rent.

The Buffalo first opened in 1980 across from McCarran but was forced to move to its current location due to the expansion of the airport.
