Mandalay Bay’s Beer Weekend kicks off Friday with a Brewmasters’ Dinner at Mix atop Delano (September 12, 7:30 p.m., $225), hosted by the hotel’s food & beverage director and certified cicerone Sarah Johnson alongside brewers from Firestone Walker and Brooklyn Brewery. The hop-packed weekend also includes the Beer for Breakfast Sunday brunch at Hubert Keller’s Fleur (September 14, 9 a.m.), a Craft Beer Revolution panel discussion (September 13, 3 p.m., free) and the main event: a Saturday night Beer Festival at Mandalay Beach, where enthusiasts can sample pours from local and regional breweries with small bites from MGM Resorts’ restaurant collection (September 13, 7:30 p.m., $75).
Out in the ’burbs, DayDream’s Beer Pong Championship will have competitors Beirut-battling for the title. Better start practicing that arc! (September 13, doors at 11 a.m., team registration by 1 p.m., $20, women free). And if you’re looking for a boozier bash, consider Cosmopolitan’s Monday night Margarita Festival, where marg-aficionados can sample varieties from top cocktail bars like Vesper, Velveteen Rabbit and Herbs & Rye. Sample ’em all and cast your vote for the evening’s stiff (cocktail) competition (September 15, 7 p.m., $40).
