Party with your pup at Mingo’s dog-friendly happy hour

While Mingo’s Pawwtle Service is each Wednesday, animals are always welcome at the Downtown eatery’s patio.

“I thought it would be so much fun to do bottle service for dogs,” says Mingo Collaso, owner of Mingo Kitchen & Lounge in Downtown’s ArtSquare. And so, Pawttle Service, a pup-friendly happy hour on Wednesdays from 3-7 p.m., was born.

For people, Mingo offers $10 cocktails, such as the jalapeño-tequila-based Dog Daze. For pups, there’s alcohol-free Bowser Beer in chicken or beef flavors for $7; peanut butter-and-pretzel Bowser Bits for $7; and a rice, carrot and zucchini dish served with beef or chicken for $13, or without meat for $7.

“I wanted to take something from the regular menu,” Collaso says. “It's kind of like our fried rice but it's not fried and doesn't have seasonings.”

One dollar from every Bowser Beer benefits Love Dog Adventures, a nonprofit that promotes animal-assisted therapy for humans. Mingo’s patio always welcomes animals, Collaso says. Oh—cats are welcome, too.
