EDC 2015: Electric Daisy Carnival’s best totems

It takes a lot to stand out in a crowd -- especially when that crowd is about 140,000 people deep. That’s where totems—tall signs to help friends find each other in crowds—come in handy. With EDC growing each year, fans are forced to get increasingly creative to make sure their signage turns heads. This year’s offerings were some of the most clever and bizarre we’d seen yet, ranging from pop culture references (Bob’s Burgers had a robust presence) and memes (Lil’ Bub) to emojis and inside jokes. Many skipped cardboard cutouts altogether in favor of 3D objects like, say, a giant inflatable donut. Others went for NSFW options to help their, ahem, poles stand out (you can use your imagination). Still others used totems as an opportunity to make a statement, with pride flags and pro-gay marriage signage abound.
