Break out your padded spandex shorts, bow ties and corsages. On July 9 cruisers and awkward couplings combine for Artifice’s new twist on a high school tradition: Bicycle Prom. Billed as “a formal affair for cyclists and supporters,” Bike Prom will start with a 9 p.m. ride from UNLV to the Downtown lounge, where a bike valet will park vehicles and partiers can show off “cyclist chic” attire as they dance to sets from DJs Gables, Badical Beans and more. It’s just like high school, only you don’t have to drink in the bathroom, and helmet head is totally acceptable.

From Cosmo land comes this exciting announcement: On Labor Day weekend, electronic dance music phenom Deadmau5 will bring his full live show to the resort’s Chelsea ballroom for back-to-back gigs September 2 and 3. And before he kicks off the new tour, Deadmau5 is giving fans the chance to design his new headgear with a contest open through July 12 at talenthouse.com. Paisley? Holograms? Giant bubble wrap? It’s your call. Just remember, the guy actually has to wear this thing.

Looking for an excuse to sample Max Brenner’s chocolate chunks pizza or banana tempura fondue? The Forum Shops restaurant launches a new bar top happy hour this week featuring $5 snacks and cocktails Monday through Friday 3-6 p.m. and 9 p.m. to close. With a drink like the Satisfaction Guaranteed—peanut and caramel liqueurs and milk chocolate served straight up—you’re bound leave happy.

Sure, the appearance by Cee Lo at last Wednesday’s Bacardi Like It Live party at Marquee was pretty cool. So were the custom T-shirt printing tables, the set by Aloe Blacc, the poolside basketball hoop and the free- flowing rum cocktails. But the highlight had to be the Like It Live robot. When a friend and I stopped to grab a shot with the metallic stud, he turned his bulging eyes towards us and offered this classic line: “Very nice.” Time to cross “Get hit on by a robot” off that bucket list.
