Nikki Beach, we hardly knew ya. As of September 23, the Tropicana has cut ties with its Miami Beach-based club, pool and restaurant operator and seized control of the venues, just four months after the Beach and Club Nikki celebrated their grand opening with a massive white party in May. Citing the venues’ failure to achieve a “net income,” the Trop has assumed management of the contested clubs, which will remain open and under their current names for the time being, according to a Trop representative.
If you think “life goes better with Bordeaux,” October is going to go very well indeed. Venetian and Palazzo will spend the month hosting Festivino, a celebration of Bordeaux, the French wine from the region of the same name, which produces more than 700 million bottles annually. The month-long event includes prix fixe menus, wine flights and specials and kicks off September 30 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a wine tasting around the Palazzo’s waterfall featuring snacks from casino restaurants and, of course, plenty of Bordeaux.
Don’t tell the cast of Jersey Shore, but Artifice Lounge is jumping on the Italian bandwagon with a weekly celebration entitled Italians Do It Better. The Wednesday night party starts at 10 p.m. and includes Italian music and movies, a $7 drink special of a shot of Fernet Branca and a Peroni and hopefully no appearances by Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino.

Now guests can sample Sin City Amber, Tenaya Creek Calico Brown and Joseph James’ Red Fox, Imperial Stout and Knee Deep Hopstar IPA while hanging among the antiques inside the imported pub.
