If you’re anything like us, you celebrate the beauty of beer frequently. Very frequently. But here’s a good excuse to raise a pint: August 5 is International Beer Day. Hit your favorite brewpub, pick up a six-pack of something special or host a beer tasting bash with friends. Or just read about our favorite brews online at the Weekly's Booze Blog. Cheers!

At the Weekly, we don’t need any help getting into the Olympic spirit. We’re into it. Really, really into it. But if you need a nudge in Team USA’s direction, turn to Hyde until August 12 for early evening Olympics screenings and drinks like the Captain America (a layered cocktail that looks unavoidably like the French flag) or the Gold Medal (a tropical-tinged drink with gold flakes). Or, hit First Food & Bar at the Palazzo, where the First Place (get it?) cocktail commemorates the Summer Games and gets you drunk at the same time.

Ever wanted your face on a billboard? Tao is setting its sights on 100,000 Facebook fans and holding a sweepstakes to get clubgoers around the country to click their “like” buttons. Enter at facebook.com/tao by August 31 and you could score a red carpet shoot, your own digital billboard, travel expenses (in case you need to fly in), a three-night hotel stay and, of course, VIP bottle service. As for Tao reaching its goal? Pretty much a done deal: The club already has 98,938 fans as of press time.
