Aretha Franklin, whose voice and music defined an era in American popular music, has died at age 76 in Detroit. She reigned as the "Queen of Soul" for over 50 years, and her voice captured the spirit of her time. In 2010, Rolling Stone magazine put Franklin at the top of its list of the "100 Greatest Singers of All Time."
