MYSTIC MONA: Psychic to Psychic

An exercise in peer counseling

Mona

I have a background as a phone psychic, but I cannot read for myself and I don't always listen to my own voice. My problem is financial. Will a certain theatrical company (that has been calling on me for several years for "almost hired" roles) ever really call me for a real contract? They keep saying "this time" they're interested and then they'll say it was between me and one other person. Now they are interested again for the fourth or fifth time (in the past four years!)—will I get it this time?

Also, my luck is better when I'm performing and I promised Spirit that if I got back into performing (acting and singing) that I would never leave it again. So for now, I'm just doing work to keep a roof over my head. Should I join the bandwagon and be a commercial psychic because that's another thing that keeps coming up in my life?

SPRING SHOWERS

Dear Spring,

Just go get yourself a job that will pay the bills because your abundance will not rely on the job you take now.

I do not think it's a good idea for you to work as a commercial phone psychic. It's not that I don't think you have the ability to help people, but I believe that deception is part of the arrangement. Typically, pay-by-the-minute phone psychics are told to keep the person talking for as long as possible (the majority of those companies charge by the minute, not by the reading. Since the psychic is paid by the hour and then commissioned for the length of time the caller is kept on the line, most phone psychics find themselves chained to the phone in order to earn enough money to live on. What bothers me the most about this type of business (and they are a business) is that they are counting on vulnerable people to call them and then exploit them in the process.

By this time next year, you will be experiencing your "true place" success. I believe you will be on the stage in some way and that good news begins for you this July. There is a dark-haired, dark-eyed man that will help you with your breakthrough. He is marvelous and you can trust him. Do not trust the man with brown hair and light eyes, he's on the verge of a nervous breakdown and/or desperate in some way.

Now that you know this desire can be yours, how will you behave differently? Will you address yourself as "actress" or "professional singer" or will you continue to think that you're still subject to the whims and decisions of others? You must be clear on what you want because that's the only way the Universe will bring it to you. A person can only love something (or someone) to the depth and capacity in which they think they deserve. You are entitled to have what you desire, and once you convince yourself that you deserve it, it will be yours.

A Moment of My Perspective

First, I received the following e-mail from someone about a year ago when I was beginning to become more public: "We believe psychics, fortune-tellers and the like are scum-sucking bottom-feeders who prey on people's fears."

Second, it was a very ethical decision for me to become licensed as a psychic. Some who profess to be psychic do not hold a license to be consulting legally in the Las Vegas area because the licensing process is problematic for them. Some have become "ordained" ministers and do "spiritual" readings. These are the people that I hope you consider suspiciously. To protect yourself, ask to see your reader's "Psychic Arts" license because in Las Vegas that license requires a background investigation to make sure the person does not hold a criminal record.

Third, it is my belief that we (as humans) have no clue just how powerful we are. When I read for a person it is to help them recognize their potential. I do not believe in curses and/or exploiting people for money to remove them. I realize that part of what I do is to counter a very large stereotype about typical psychics, which is why I provide for you a radio show in which you can dial in (for free) to ask questions.

And last, you are the person that is the artist and creator of your life. The energy of the Universe is there to support your clear focus of how you wish to manifest all the situations around you. My favorite author is Ayn Rand. Not only did she not apologize for her life, her intelligence or her success, she gave to the world the idea that living up to your own expectations is the hero's journey.

So you see, I am not your typical psychic, because I believe it is the celebration of the "I" in us that's most important.
