Kumi

Kumi, a new Japanese concept restaurant, is set to open in summer 2013 in the space formerly occupied by China Grill at Mandalay Bay. Kumi is a project of the Light Group, which also opened Citizens Kitchen & Bar and renovated the Red Square at Mandalay Bay, Kumi will feature the cuisine of executive sushi chef Toshiyuki Motoyama, a native of Yokohama, Japan, who was trained in traditional edomae sushi technique and studied under the famed Mr. Yamada at Kyubei.
The Las Vegas Weekly's Brock Radke says Kumi's cuisine will be fun, fresh and approachable, Japanese with influences of Peruvian, Latin, Thai and other Asian cultures.
