Ja Rule and Ashanti brought their most recent tour to Brooklyn Bowl on Oct. 17, 2016, and played to a packed house of nostalgic music fans. The duo performed their solo hits and, of course, teamed up for classic duets “Always On Time” and “Mesmerize.”
As the flagship artist for producer Irv Gotti's Def Jam-affiliated Murder Inc. label, Ja Rule became one of the rap industry's most commercially successful artists during the early 2000s. From 1999’s “Venni Vetti Vecci” to the upcoming (and rumored-to-be-final) album “Coup de Grace,” Ja Rule has remained a force not only in music, but in fashion and public consciousness.
Ashanti, whose first record “Foolish” sold more than half a million copies in its first week of release in April 2002, is a talented and accomplished singer, songwriter, dancer, actress and record producer. Ashanti is currently working on a new album slated for release in 2018.
