St. Patrick’s Day: get your green on

Image
Flogging Molly plays the Mandalay Bay Events Center March 18.

Celebrate Ireland’s patron saint with a procession of green beers at the bar around the corner. Or consider these fun alternatives ...

•Head to Henderson’s Event Plaza for family-friendly fun at the Sons of Erin parade and festival. Patrons can partake in jig lessons, carnival rides and midway games, or watch live Irish entertainment and food demonstrations.

•Mandalay Bay holds its own festival, beginning with a parade through the resort on Thursday to celebrate the opening of Rí Rá. Celtic punk-rockers Flogging Molly perform at the Events Center on Friday, and if that won’t sell you, maybe the $39 all-you-can-drink beer garden (Thursday and Friday, noon-5 p.m.) at Moorea Beach will.

•The Arts Factory presents Shamrock-A-Rama, featuring comedy by the Drunken Irish Priest and music from local band The Dirty Panties. Sip on an Irish iced tea while you enjoy the show.
