Touché Amoré performs at Hard Rock Live on July 3.

HEAR

Touché Amoré One of the biggest bands in hardcore (or post-, if you prefer) hits the Strip for its first headlining show here since latest album Is Survived By—called the band’s “most mature and heartfelt record to date” by Punknews—was released in September. With Tigers Jaw, Dads; July 3, 5:30 p.m., $15-$17, Hard Rock Live.

Ringo Deathstarr The Austin, Texas, trio is hardly Beatlesque, as its name might suggest, but it sure does like shoegaze bands. My Bloody Valentine and Ride specifically come to mind when listening to the act’s effects-laden, swirling and occasionally warped compositions. Expect it to add more ambience than usual to the Beauty Bar patio. With The Astaires, The Koroks; July 5, 9 p.m., $10.

GO

Henderson's Cowabunga Bay opens this week.

Cowabunga Bay Wet ’n’ Wild gets some competition this weekend, when Henderson’s waterpark opens just in time for Independence Day. Soak up some summer sun and see how Cowabunga’s slides stack up to its cross-town rival’s. Opens July 4, 10:30 a.m., $10-$36.

Downtown Spaces Independence Day Block Party The Gateway District is all about America’s birthday, filling in for First Friday with live bands on the bus (i.e. the mobile stage), a sidewalk art fair, free food and drinks and a balcony view of the fireworks along the Strip. Free parking makes this an ideal party, and the Hard Hat Lounge will keep it going across the street. July 4, 6 p.m., free.

LAUGH

Christopher Titus Few comedians have ridden their dysfunctional families to the comedic levels Titus has achieved. Anyone who saw his self-titled Fox sitcom knows he’s a guy who will make you forget your own problems while laughing your ass off. July 4-6, 7:30 p.m., $15-$25, South Point.

EAT

Bellagio's Barbecue Secrets Bellagio’s Epicurean Epicenter events are always interesting and mostly expensive, but the annual summer barbecue is always worth the price of admission. Executive chef Edmund Wong and master sommelier Jason Smith team up for a full-on flavor explosion with all the smoky meats, tasty sides, craft brews and seasonal desserts you can handle. July 5, noon, $95. Bellagio Tuscany Kitchen, tickets available at concierge at 702-693-7075.
