Fancy yourself a talented graphic artist? Then keep reading…
Paul McCartney, easily one of the most influential pop culture icons of all time, has invited creatives around the globe to design work inspired by his solo albums McCartney and McCartney II.
Talenthouse, a creative collaboration company, is sponsoring the Design for Paul McCartney competition and is currently accepting submissions. The deadline is September 6.
The lucky artist who emerges victorious will receive a lot more than global exposure. Aside from having their work featured on McCartney’s website, the winner will receive a deluxe set of the two albums used for inspiration, a framed lithograph of their work signed by McCartney, a pair of tickets to one of the former Beatle’s upcoming concerts, the latest Adobe Creative Suite and $1000. Their work will also be exhibited in London’s chic Idea Generation Gallery. The artists who place second and third also receive pretty prize packages.
Of course, the real prize is winning itself. McCartney himself will handpick the winner.
Although McCartney chooses the competition’s champion, web surfers will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite Paul-inspired submissions on Talenthouse’s website. The six that receive the highest votes will each receive a monetary prize and copies of the two solo albums.
So what are you waiting for? It’s time to roll your sleeves up, throw “Maybe I’m Amazed” on the record player (or just click it on your iTunes playlist) and get to work! There’s only 48 days left to create a McCartney masterpiece.
