ALL AMPED UP

It's a holiday for the hardcore faithful. Local creative collective We the Beat announced it is bringing Grammy Award-winning Turnstile back to Las Vegas for a headlining takeover of The Amp at Craig Ranch Regional Park on October 15. Riding off the momentum of Never Enough and a years-long ascent from underground fixture to festival mainstay, Turnstile has become one of those rare bands capable of translating hardcore into something fresh that resonates across the broader alternative landscape without sacrificing its roots. Acclaimed comic and rapper Vince Staples, hardcore punk outfit Trash Talk and local skramz band Febuary will round out the bill that reflects the genre-fluid interests that have come to define Turnstile’s rise.

From hosting acts like indie-folk luminary Phoebe Bridgers to neo-soul icon Erykah Badu and even hip-hop legends Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, The Amp has long served as one of the top destinations for outdoor concerts. Landing Turnstile feels like a reminder of the venue’s full potential and We the Beat’s booking power. For updates and additional details, visit wethebeat.com. –GR

THE SHOWMEN MUST GO ON

Franky Perez is becoming the Vegas showman he’s always dreamed of. After years of performing on and off the Strip—and with rock legends like Ringo Starr, Slash and Billy Idol—the vocal powerhouse behind Latin-pop smash Dámelo will launch a new weekly show at Treasure Island Theater on June 25, accompanied by his high-energy band, the All Nighters. The free, all-ages show features all the hallmarks of a classic Vegas production, anchored by a large live band, showgirls and Perez’s dynamic stage presence.

South of the Strip, seasoned jazz musician Patrick Hogan serves up late-night sets at Bootlegger Italian Bistro on Fridays and Saturdays. The pianist and vocalist has enchanted the rooms of Maxan Jazz and Vic’s with his smooth arrangements and timeless, vintage flair. Now experience it in a space where greats like Frank Sinatra once dined. –AS

WHAT’S THE DEAL?

Caesars Entertainment has revived its Caesars Show Week through June 29, offering discounted tickets on concerts across all of its properties. Now’s your chance to score $50 tickets to see select artists at the Colosseum (Kelly Clarkson, Rod Stewart or Josh Groban), Flamingo (Wayne Newton), Harrah’s (Donny Osmond), and PH Live (Jeezy, Empire of the Sun, Old Dominion, 5 Seconds of Summer, Los Tuscanes, Scorpions, Bailey Zimmerman and more). Use the code “CAE50” at ticketmaster.com/Caesars50. –AS

TACO TURN UP

The Tacos and Tequila Festival is throwing it back with an early 2000s party unlike anything we’ve seen in Summerlin. After touring across the Midwest, the endless taco fest touches down at the Las Vegas Ballpark on October 10 with Atlanta rap legend TI headlining, plus performances by Bronx hitmaker Fat Joe, R&B boy band Pretty Ricky, Southern rap princess Trina, St. Louis emcees Murphy Lee and Chingy, Southern hip-hop duo Ying Yang Twins, “Ms. New Booty” star Bubba Sparxxx, and DJ Ashton Martin. To top it off, there’s a planned Chihuahua beauty pageant, lucha libre wrestling and more tacos and tequila than you can handle. Tickets now on sale at tacosandtequilafestival.com. –AS
