Back in the days when we were in grade school, stalling the inevitable fight after school for any variety of reasons—“My mom’s picking me up” was the most popular—was called being “chicken.” Immature? Sure? Effective? You bet. So how come Manny Pacquiao’s camp hasn’t used that classic taunt to describe Floyd Mayweather’s stall tactics since the possibility of a bout between the two was announced a few weeks ago? Demanding random drug testing? Really? And now Pacquiao, who’s filed a defamation suit against Mayweather over the whole thing, has used such words as “ill-will, spite, malice, revenge and envy.” C’mon, Manny. One word resolves this. Use it.
