Las Vegas doesn’t just play home to the world’s biggest hotels; we play home to some of the best. At least, that’s what Fodor’s thinks.

What do those guys know about hotels? Well, lots. Fodor’s, a division of Random House, is the world’s biggest publisher of English travel books. According to Arabella Bowen, Fodor’s editorial director, “Our editors and writers travel the globe each year to scout hotels, and the Fodor’s 100 Hotels represent the best of the best.” So when it comes to the subject of Good Hotels, their opinion’s kind of a big deal.

Every year Fodor’s publishes a Top 100 list. This year, Las Vegas’s own Cosmopolitan was among that best of the best. More specifically, the Cosmo made it into the “New and Noteworthy” category. Right alongside South Africa’s 17-room Babylonstoren and Amsterdams’ 3-centry-old Hotel de l'Europe (which was recently renovated and reopened—hence it’s inclusion in the category).

Now, the question is, after the Cosmo turns 2, can it make it onto the list in another category? I’m thinking it’s a contender for the “Clubby Atmosphere” and “Design” categories.
