Have you seen the new “What Happens in Vegas” commercial? You know, the one where the Midwest couple flies to Vegas for a two-day jaunt, leaving their children behind? Oh wait. That’s not a commercial; that actually happened. The kids were 9 and 12, and the adults, Chicagoans Shanpreta Howard and Antowain Johnson, are now being charged with misdemeanor endangerment. Apparently, the 12-year-old told his teacher about his parents’ trip, and the teacher, in turn, told the police. The moral of the story: Just because it’d make for a good LVCVA commercial doesn’t mean you should actually do it.
