So a crazy thing happened ... As we put the finishing touches on this week’s magazine, admiring the amazing food photos by Beverly Poppe and scheming to make a staff trip to Johnny McGuire’s at Town Square to feast on our cover sandwich, the Olympian, we learned—just hours past press time—that Johnny McGuire’s at Town Square is no more. It closed, for good, that very day. What are the odds?

But there’s good news. All is not lost. Johnny McGuire’s has been planning to launch a local food truck for months now and should have its sandwich-mobile on the road this fall. The store is also planning to open a southwest area location later this year.
