Nevada Northern Railway is both an attraction and an opportunity for an uncommon overnighter. The depot museum features themed-train rides and hands-on engineering exhibits, but it's not only train connoisseurs who flock here. For one of the most innovative ways to catch a glimpse of the galaxy, consider NNRY’s Star Train.

The Star Train allows visitors to behold the night sky while riding a train car behind a vintage locomotive. Lead by “Dark Rangers” from Great Basin National Park, this train ride is unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. It also sells out every year, so make sure to plan your trip early.

Following the train ride, you can spend the night in the railyard. The space once served as the Chief Engineer’s Quarters and has since been converted into a cozy room for two. You can also book a night in Caboose #22, a train car that was delivered to NNRY more than 40 years ago. Today, it’s one of the most unique overnighter experiences in the state, featuring all-steel sides and an oil stove.
