Northwestern Nevada is the crown jewel of the state’s many remote and off-the-grid areas, with nothing by miles and miles of stunning scenery. The town of Vya—10 miles from the California border and less than an hour from the Oregon state line—is often referred to as a ghost town, short of a small number of residents. It’s home to Rockin’ TD Ranch, far off the beaten path and one of the Silver State’s most remote destination experiences.

The ranch offers a cozy, two-bedroom, two-bath guest house with large scenic windows overlooking Long Valley and an expansive front porch to take it all in. It also offers the Rockin’ TD Ranch Bunkhouse that welcomes people traveling with pets and includes two sets of bunkbeds, a full kitchen and a single bathroom.

While getting up there is a trek, Rockin’ TD Ranch is near Massacre Rim Wilderness Study Area, one of only seven designated Dark Sky Sanctuaries in the world. It’s so bright and breathtaking, you’ll be able to see your shadow under the light of the Milky Way.
