Buried in the foothills of central Nevada’s Big Smoky Valley, Spencer Hot Springs is one of the most reliable hot spring soaks in the state. Managed by the Nevada Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and open to the public, these lush springs have an ancient history dating back thousands of years.

Spencer Hot Springs is home to three, sometimes four, spots brimming with natural spring-fed hot water that is uniquely piped into tubs, known to locals as cowboy tubs. Because of this, hot spring seekers have full control of the temperature, making soaking possible no matter the season.

A few miles south of Spencer Hot Springs, Kingston Canyon is home to a myriad of outdoor activities, and there’s no better place to learn about them than at the Lucky Spur Saloon. Named “Best Bar in the Middle of Nowhere” by Men’s Health, the Lucky Spur Saloon looks like a scene straight out of a Western film and provides guests with fantastic views and the best beer for miles and miles in any direction.
