Tiny Little Rant: Shortcut Capital of the World

We’re not sure how it happened, but our city has become what we’ll call the “Shortcut Capital of the World.” First, Dipak Desai put thousands of lives in jeopardy by reusing syringes. Then Harmon at CityCenter was found to have significant enough structural defects that its size has been cut almost in half. Now comes the news that ChemNutra, a locally owned company that sold wheat gluten to dog-food manufacturers, was adding melamine, which is toxic to animals but cheaper than protein. What’s next—cooling nuclear waste in the Bellagio fountains?
